It's...ok at best

I bought this for bushcrafting. Something to throw in the backpack and pull out for some coffee or even tea. Something to use, quickly rinse out, dry on the fire, cool, pack, and be gone. Since it is "ALL" titanium, it was perfect for everything I needed. Pressing & Cleaning are the issues. It doesn't "press" well. It's definitely touching the walls as you press, but grinds get through the mesh. Now, I'm a man, so a little grit in my teeth is acceptable. Women take note ;) . But match that with the fact that the grinds get caught between the mesh and the press and this shows me it isn't filtering well. Then the grinds are trapped there, so during rinsing it doesn't come out. This is a major flaw. I'm pretty sure my cylinder isn't a perfect cylinder, so it's possible I got a defective one. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to test it right away, so a return/replace is probably out of the picture. Just wanted to share for those who buy, make sure yours is a perfect cylinder and test right away. You might get one like mine, and it will make simple camp coffee more of a cleaning heavy endeavor. (Side note: the flathead screw at the bottom is NOT titanium. I bent mine trying to take it off to clean, now it will NEVER be cleaned correctly, or at least reassembled correctly. Anyway, happy camping!

great french press....

This is a great french press - it doesn't have any silicon. I believe its the only one. I don't like the price though. For a french press, it's quite expensive. Understandably, because of titanium?

Pleasure Coffee Press

I bought the petite french press for a birthday present to myself. I had cataract surgery a year ago and am having trouble adjusting to new reading glasses and seem to break all glass things in my kitchen including my french press. I needed an unbreakable replacement as I seem to be spending time everyday sweeping broken glass from my concrete floor and am so afraid I will miss a shard or two and my sweet little dog will get hurt. Also, as I get older I appreciate items that are light in weight. I tested the press and have discover that if I slowly press only a slight grating metal on metal sounds. Also I like stirring with a bamboo spoon…..so quiet. The spout pours in a perfect stream if not done too quickly. This is my first experience with titanium and was at first disturbed by the fingerprints I left on the surface but then decided I like the personal imprints that appear for me to see the human touch. I think using the press will add greatly to my morning coffee ritual and I can easily take it wherever I go. Also love the size, almost playhouse like, and that warm wooden knob on the lid, a nice final design touch.

I need a replacement threaded end for the plunger rod of the Ultralight Titanium Coffee French Press. Do you sell this as a replacement part? Thanks, Rob
