The basket also holds the leaves conveniently for repeated steepings, in which good green tea reveals more nuanced flavors. I was surprised that the double-wall vessel was heavier than expected, and that the basket was lighter and more delicate than expected ... neither a problem, just noticed. I love the design of the whole thing, very compact and packable, while still being kind of perfect for tea preparation and serving.
